MESSAGE FROM THE HEADMISTRESS
Greeting and good wishes to you all. In God's plan we all have a special mission, to transmit to man a bit of divine truth, goodness and beauty. By involving ourselves in this mission. We experience the true joy of living. Excitement, anxiety and uncertainty are some of the feelings one experiences when one steps into a New Academic year.
Yet, each new dawn brings the possibility of new hope to rise a hope to achieve. In view of this, I would like to share with you the following.
We have a lot of habits to learn and many virtues to make our own. To mention a few, here are the Five Golden Virtues.
ENTHUSIASM
BELIEF
LOVE
FORGIVENESS
PERSEVERANCE
Enthusiasm: Bigness of vision and purpose will develop in one an evergrowing imaginatio and enthusiasm. This in turn will lead you to new and greater accoplishment. No one knows what a clay will hold. Everyday is full of uncertainty. But LIFE is not a random chance. There are things you can do today to influence what will happen tomorrow. Plan for it. Act to bring worthwhile goals. When the unexpected happens, stretch your thinking and adapt your plan. Enthusiams must be kept in balance with patience. Patience is accepting difficult situations, without giving dead line to remove it as 'Life is not a game but an adventure'
Belief: All things are possible to him that Believeth' Mk. 9:23.
Each of us is born with something special inside of us. Call it God: Call is Karma. Call it Spirit or Supreme Power. Your spirit, is your spark of life, that controlling force within you. Directing your life physically, mentally and spiritually. We are what we believe, what we feel and what we say. Every cell in our body is working overtime towards achieving something. Always use affirmative thoughts, languages and beliefs which can bring the positive message home to your spirit.
Love: The most important virue is Love. The bible says, 'God is Love and whoever lives in love lives in union with God'. Well, people may know you, for the Gifts you have, as a person with a beautiful voice, talented with uncommon wisdom, a good speaker, or experienced God's power in a spectaular way. But if you do not have love for your fellow brethren, you are an empty vessel. It's your LOVE which makes others' life worth living. Love is te spark of the Divine within you, the summation of all Good things.
Forgiveness: Forgiveness is the human person's deepest need and highest achievement. Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future 'Forgiveness' is the attribute of the strong, says Mahatma Gandhi. What I learned to do many years ago, was to forgive myself. It is very important for every human that you are liable to make a mistake. But once you learn to forgive, you say to yourself, I want to be healthy, happy and a liberated person. Most people in society today view Forgiveness as a weakness. They struggle with it because they assume that by forgiveness, they are losing the upper hand. But truly this noble virtue can have magical effects when practices.
Perseverance: Another tool to acquiring good character is Perseverance. Perseverance is to continue doing something in spite of difficulty. Sadly, perseverance is lacking among many of our youth today. Many successful persons attribute their laurels to perseverance.
The 60 second commercial is after the time choice for kids brought up in our fast paced, instant gratifying, image conscious society. Many of our children do not enjoy the satisfaction of struggle and accomplishment. In fact some of our students instead endure the pain of addiction and depression because most tools of instant gratification are destructive. Television portrays work as drudgery and something to be avoided rather than endured and accomplished.
So I conclude by saying, Human beings are creatures of habit. Intentional cultivation of a Grand Virtuous habit helps bend the will, diminishing the likelihood of falling prey in a specific moment of weakness. These five virtues are your sword and shield, they are the beacon lighting your way through life. Take needed steps to make each of these as a part of your Words, Thoughts, Habits, Actions and Beliefs.
